Knicks Sign Landry Shamet, Waive Matt Ryan

The New York Knicks have officially signed guard Landry Shamet, reinforcing their backcourt depth. Shamet had spent the preseason with the Knicks but was waived due to a shoulder injury. He recently played for the Knicks' G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, where he averaged 11 points per game.

In a corresponding move, the Knicks waived forward Matt Ryan, who appeared in nine games this season, averaging 1.7 points. Shamet, a seven-year veteran, has a career average of 8.7 points and is recognized for his strong defensive abilities.

With this signing, the Knicks are maintaining a solid position in the Eastern Conference, currently holding a record of 18-10 and ranking third. They will look to continue their momentum in their upcoming game against the Toronto Raptors.
