Alejo Veliz Urged to Move Back to Premier League

Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz, currently on loan at Espanyol, has been encouraged to return to the Premier League in the January transfer window. Since joining Spurs from Rosario Central, Veliz has struggled for game time, making only eight Premier League appearances and spending most of 2024 on loan.
After a disappointing spell at Sevilla, where he made just six substitute appearances, Veliz returned to Tottenham for pre-season but found himself falling down the pecking order. He then signed a season-long loan with Espanyol, where he has scored four goals in 16 matches, primarily during a Copa del Rey match.
Facundo Buonanotte, a fellow Argentine and former teammate at Rosario Central, has suggested that Veliz should join him at Leicester City. Buonanotte believes that training alongside experienced striker Jamie Vardy could greatly benefit Veliz’s development.
As the festive season pauses La Liga, Veliz will have to wait until January 11 for his next match, as Espanyol resumes play against Leganes. This time off may give him a chance to consider his future and potential Premier League return.
