Napoli Extend Serie A Lead with 2-0 Victory Over Verona

Napoli solidified their position at the top of the Serie A table with a convincing 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday. The win extends their lead over their closest rivals, Inter Milan, to four points, although Inter have two games in hand.  

The match saw an early own goal from Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo, who deflected Giovanni Di Lorenzo's shot into his own net within the first five minutes. Napoli dominated possession throughout the first half, creating several scoring opportunities but failing to capitalize on them.  

In the second half, Napoli continued to press, and their efforts were rewarded in the 61st minute when Frank Anguissa unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that flew past Montipo and into the back of the net.  

The victory maintains Napoli's impressive form and keeps them on track for a potential second Serie A title in three seasons. Verona, meanwhile, remain in a precarious position, just one point above the relegation zone.
