Nico's Eager Pursuit: The Young Winger's Desire to Join Barcelona

June 15 — According to Diario Sport, Bilbao winger Nico is very eager to join Barcelona and has privately expressed this sentiment multiple times to his friends at the club.
The report states that Nico's message to Yamal, Pedri, Fermin, and Kubas is, “Bro, take me with you.” He continues to reiterate his desire privately: if Barcelona opens the door for him, he is ready to join.
Nico's agent, Félix Tainta, met with Barcelona's sports director Deco this past Friday to discuss the possibility of Nico joining the club. The agent expressed Nico's willingness to come to Barcelona and sought to understand if this opportunity currently exists.
During the national team training camp, Nico’s stance was clear: he wants to play at Barcelona and is willing to join immediately. He has been in constant communication with several Barcelona players in the national team, and even after the national team's matches, they continue to talk. Nico believes he can integrate into this team and has made this clear to the Barcelona players.
However, from Barcelona’s perspective, their top target remains Díaz, whose transfer fee is around €75 million, and Liverpool is unlikely to let him go easily. An alternative, Rashford, might be available for a lower price, but Nico has regained his standing in this competition: he is younger, familiar with La Liga, and could easily fit into the new generation of players at Barcelona.
Diario Sport also reports that Barcelona coach Flick has had a direct conversation with Nico, explaining his plans, philosophy, and the role Nico could play in the team over the phone. Although it was a brief call, it was significant. Flick has given a nod to Nico's potential signing, believing that the Spanish winger would be a useful option for Barcelona's left flank.
While Nico has not publicly spoken out in interviews or on social media, his message has reached Barcelona's internal circles, having informed his friends and the coaching staff. “Bro, take me with you,” may have started as a joke in the national team locker room, but this time it clearly expresses his desire to wear the Barcelona jersey, and the club understands this.
