Juventus Firmly Rejects Al Ahli’s €25 Million Bid for Locatelli
Juventus have decisively turned down a €25 million offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli for their midfielder Manuel Locatelli, signaling their intent to retain the 27-year-old Italian international. The bid, revealed on Monday, is considered well below Locatelli’s market value, estimated at €30 million by Transfermarkt, and comes as the transfer window nears its close.

Locatelli, who joined Juventus from Sassuolo for €30 million in 2021, has become a cornerstone of the team, captaining the side and contributing three goals and four assists in 35 appearances during the 2022-23 season. His importance has only grown, with the club viewing him as integral to their midfield strategy under current management.

The rejection reflects Juventus’ broader strategy to maintain squad stability, a stance reminiscent of their resilience following the 2006 Calciopoli scandal, when they rebuilt after relegation. Despite the Saudi Pro League’s aggressive spending—exceeding $957 million in the 2023 summer window, per Deloitte—Juventus appear unwilling to part with key players for undervalued offers as the new season approaches. Locatelli himself has shown no inclination to leave, reinforcing the club’s resolve to keep him in Turin.
