Núñez Prefers Europe as Liverpool Set £50m Price Tag; AC Milan Seek Funds for Deal

August 6, 2025 – According to DaveOCKOP, Liverpool have set a £50 million asking price for striker Darwin Núñez, with the Uruguayan forward keen to remain in Europe ahead of next year’s World Cup.
Núñez, 26, has struggled for consistency at Anfield, failing to fully convince manager Arne Slot of his ability to lead the line. His fluctuating form and positional adjustments have raised doubts about his long-term future at the club.
AC Milan are preparing to make a formal approach this week, but they face stiff competition from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. While the Saudi club can easily meet Liverpool’s valuation, Milan are exploring a loan deal with an obligation to buy—potentially set at £55 million—to structure the deal within their financial constraints. Liverpool, however, prefer a straight £50 million sale.
Núñez is reportedly prioritizing a move to a European club to maintain his international prospects, with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon. Napoli had previously shown interest but failed to agree on a fee with Liverpool.
The coming days will be crucial as Milan weigh their options against Al-Hilal’s financial muscle, while Núñez hopes for a European solution to secure his place in Uruguay’s squad.
